Yes. Odyssey opened a free public research preview of Odyssey-3 on Oct. 11, 2026, so anyone can generate and explore interactive worlds from text prompts in real time. It matters because Odyssey is pushing beyond static image and video generation into controllable environments, and people can try the web demo now while developers can apply for API access.

What changed

The new public preview puts Odyssey-3 Flash on the web for free. Users can switch between first-person and third-person views, move through a generated scene, trigger events, and watch the environment respond frame by frame. Odyssey says the base Odyssey-3 model has 14 billion parameters and outputs 832 × 480 video, while Odyssey-3 Pro reaches 1280 × 720.

What Odyssey-3 can do now

Odyssey says the same world model is meant to support several kinds of controllers, including robotic arms, drones, and video game characters. In company demos, it shows robots recovering from failed grasps, a drone navigating an indoor simulated space, and game agents driving in GTA V and transferring some behavior to Red Dead Redemption 2. For the public, though, the hands-on feature today is interactive world generation. Robotics and autonomous systems are still research work, not part of the public demo.

The benchmark lead comes with caveats

Odyssey says Odyssey-3 Pro hit 66.1 on the Physics-IQ Verified video-to-video benchmark, but that number came from a single run where one result was selected from eight generations for each task. The benchmark's own rules say record claims should report four test runs with standard deviation. Without that selection method, Odyssey-3 Pro averaged 63.37 across four runs, which still places it near the top. Odyssey also says Odyssey-3 leads three of four WorldMark categories in its own evaluation and places third in the remaining first-person real category.

Is Odyssey-3 free to try?

Yes. Odyssey says the public research preview is free to use through its web demo, which runs on Odyssey-3 Flash.

Can developers use Odyssey-3 through an API?

Developers cannot just turn it on instantly from the article's details, but Odyssey says they can apply for API access.

Does the public preview let you control robots or drones?

No. The public preview is for generating and exploring interactive environments. Odyssey's robotics, drone, and game-control work is described as research and demos, not as part of the public web experience.

Are Odyssey-3's benchmark wins fully settled?

Not entirely. The Physics-IQ Verified scores appear on the official leaderboard, but the headline 66.1 result used a selection method and a single run that do not meet the benchmark's own four-run standard for a record claim. The WorldMark rankings cited by Odyssey are also based on the company's own evaluation.
