On October 21, 2026, Google Cloud said it is adding OpenAI models alongside Gemini and Claude, making it the only major cloud provider that says it offers all three on one platform. For enterprise buyers, that means more model choice under one contract and one bill, though access starts only as a private preview for select customers.
What changed
The new OpenAI lineup includes GPT-6 Astra for heavier work such as coding and research, GPT-6.1 Sol as a lower-cost option with similar performance, and GPT-6 Luna as a faster, cheaper model for everyday tasks. Google Cloud said the models are available starting now in private preview, with sign-ups already open.

Why it matters
For companies that already buy cloud and AI services from multiple vendors, the appeal is simple: one platform to compare or combine leading model families without splitting spend across separate providers. Google Cloud also said all usage will flow through the same bill and count toward existing contracts, and that customer data will not be used for training. At the same time, the move highlights a familiar tension inside Google, because cloud capacity used to serve outside model makers can compete with the needs of its own Gemini organization.

Who gets access now
This is not a broad public rollout yet. The OpenAI models are in private preview for select enterprise customers, with sign-ups open now. Google Cloud also said the models will appear in Gemini for Business and Google Antigravity, which suggests the company wants them available across more of its business AI stack, not only inside raw cloud infrastructure.
